  1. Musei di San Domenico

    The former Dominican monastery, the complex consists of five buildings: Palazzo Pasquali, the church of San Giacomo Apostolo , Dominican Convent, Convent of the Augustinians and Sala Santa Caterina. It currently hosts Pinacoteca Civica. It is also a venue for temporary exhibitions.

  2. Abbazia di San Mercuriale

    A 12th-century building in Lombard-Romanesque style. It's campanile (bell tower) used to be one of the tallest in Italy (75m). Its construction began in the 12th century. Currently it is the main religious building in the city.

    This former oratory was built between 1494 and 1502 by Pace Bombace. It is quite remarkable that the appearance of the dome from outside is reminiscent of the monolith top of the Mausoleum of Theodoric, in Ravenna.
