Introduction

Welcome to Nomax ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a safe experience while using our travel social networking platform.

Information We Collect

Account Information

• Name, email address, date of birth
• Profile photo and bio
• Travel preferences and interests

Location Data

We collect your location to show you travelers nearby and help you connect with people in your current city. You can disable location services in your device settings.

Usage Data

• Activities you join and create
• Messages and interactions with other users
• App usage analytics

Profile Guests

When you open another traveler's full profile in the app, we record that visit (who visited whom, and when) so that the visited person can see who looked at their profile during the last 7 days. Visits are kept for 30 days and then deleted. You can switch this off at any time in Settings → Privacy ("Show me in other people's guests"): your visits are then recorded without your identity, and you in turn see only how many people visited you, not who. The app tells you about this the first time you open someone's profile, before any visit is recorded. Blocking a person removes all visits between you.

Daily Game (Landfall)

If you play the daily geography game, we store your guesses, results, streak and the time zone the game was played in. This data is linked to your account, shown to you in your statistics, and used for the game's small leaderboards (people you have chatted with, and players from your country). It is deleted with your account.

AI Concierge

The Concierge is an optional AI assistant inside the app that helps you plan trips and find travelers who have been where you are going. Before your first message is sent, the app shows what is shared and asks you to continue. When you use it, the text you type to the Concierge, your first name, your home country, and the city names and dates of your own trips and visited places are sent to a third-party large language model (provided by Google) through OpenRouter (openrouter.ai) from our server, solely to generate the reply. Other travelers' names, photos, messages or identifiers are never sent: our server replaces them with anonymous references. The AI cannot send messages to anyone. You can delete the Concierge conversation or stop using the Concierge at any time in Settings → Privacy.

Invite Link Clicks

Invite links (nomax.app/invite/…) lead to a web page. When that page is opened, we record the invite code, a one-way hash of the visitor's IP address and the browser family, so that we can measure how invites work and match an install to an invite. The IP hash is deleted after 24 hours and the record after 90 days. If you join Nomax through an invite, the person who invited you learns that you joined and a chat between the two of you is opened.

How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Provide and improve our services
• Match you with compatible travelers
• Send notifications about activities and messages
• Ensure platform safety and prevent abuse

Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your personal data. We share data only when:

• Required by law or legal process
• Necessary to protect user safety
• With service providers who assist our operations (under strict agreements)
• With the AI provider described under "AI Concierge", only for the data listed there and only when you use the Concierge

Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request data correction or deletion
• Object to data processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time

Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. Upon account deletion, we delete all personal data within 30 days, except where required by law.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption, secure servers, and regular security audits to protect your data.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience. You can control cookie preferences in your browser settings.

Children's Privacy

Nomax is restricted to users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

International Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your residence. We ensure adequate safeguards are in place.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
