  6. Lehel Market Hall

    Mostly fresh food products. Founded 1945, demolished 2000, rebulded 2002, for $ ~15 million. Four level building (2 of them parking). There are 349 tenant retail space, more than 80 small-scale producers, Post Office. The market itself is designed primarily housed on the ground floor and the first floor gallery. The underpass level used mainly for the landing of goods dealers, and also here operates the "small market". At the Small market, - as well as in the other end of the hall,- a supermarket works, also find here pastries and sweets shop, antique store and pub. This section opens directly to the m3 subway, and this part open longer than the 'upper' section. - The whole building is painted by a myriad of colors,- especially red, yellow and blue,- whhat are the colors of the capital.

  7. Great Market Hall

    A grand old three-level market hall, with a modern supermarket in the basement, small stalls selling mostly gourmet food items on the ground floor (more paprika and goose liver than you can shake a stick at) and handicrafts on the second floor. It is very touristy these days but still worth a visit. Bargaining and comparison-shopping are recommended. The Langos stand is a tourist scam, serving up a deep-fried snack called "Langos". Base prices are listed prominently, but the server will pile on additional condiments and it is not made clear that these cost extortionately extra. Before you know it, you will end up with a $30 or $40 USD pancake, charged in Hungarian Forint.
